In a low-scoring affair between the Havana Metropolitanos and the St. Louis Gaedels, pitcher Joyee Cameron was the difference between victory and defeat. The Havana left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Metropolitanos win. Marc Hoyles snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Hector Roybal suffered the loss. The Metropolitanos, now 2-0, have been playing some good baseball.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Dustin Siepker came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing St. Louis pitcher Hector Roybal, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Havana on top, 2-1.

"Not enough offensively in a winnable game," said losing manager Mak Dolnick.
