Twins Win, 7-1, Over Toronto
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 29-year old shortstop Luis Zatarain, the Cincinnati Twins stopped the Toronto Juggernauts, 7-1. Ruben Escobar, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Juggernauts to 1 run on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 4. The win has Cincinnati at 1-1.
Salomão Capucho had a big 3-run home run for the Twins in the top of the sixth inning. With Cincinnati leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Fabian Estrada, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2074 draft, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Twins on top, 6-0.
Said losing manager Marc Arnold: "The list goes on and on of things we just flat out didn't do."
