Destroyers Win 9-7 Walk-Off
|
Miami got a terrific game from third baseman Alex Monroy. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to San Diego, 9-7. Monroy was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double. San Diego reliever Irakly Alvarez picked up the win, while Akira Fukumoto took the loss for Miami. After losing, Miami is 8-8.
San Diego got a game-changing hit from Jesus Castillo. The shortstop blasted a grand slam home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a winner.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Castillo.
