Stars Win at Home, 6-4
|
The Los Angeles Stars picked up a win at Stars Ballpark, knocking off the Minneapolis Vikings, 6-4. Starting pitcher Danny Serrano was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Serrano, now 1-0. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7. Raiko Leon, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.
Bonaventure Moser had a big run-scoring double for the Stars in the bottom of the third inning. With Los Angeles leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Kwang-sik Nho and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stars ahead, 3-1.
"We're playing like we're capable of," said Los Angeles manager Pat Kaers.
The win has Los Angeles at 11-6.
