Left-hander Roberto Rueda mesmerized the Phoenix Thunderbirds while leading the Kansas City Athletics to a 6-0 victory. The Thunderbirds fall to 6-12 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2084 season.
In the bottom of the fourth, Kansas City catcher Brian Lynch had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Lynch stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 4-0, Kansas City. For the game, he went 1 for 3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Rueda. "Successful pitchers do it."
