Davila Lays Hammer Down in 1-0 Win
|
Miami Cyclones starter Roberto Davila pitched his team past the Santiago Avispas, 1-0. Picking up his 3rd save was 29-year old right-handed pitcher Bill Lawson. The Avispas, 7-8, continue their sluggish start to the 2083 campaign.
Davila, a native of San Miguelito, Panama, was dealing all game. He kept Santiago hitters off-balance, while giving the Cyclones 8 quality innings. Davila threw 87 pitches, allowing 6 hits and striking out 10.
Cyclones manager Chris Stephan raved about Davila after the game. "I thought Roberto was 'lights out.'"
