Metropolitanos Beaten By Juggernauts, 5-2
|
Toronto pitcher Santiago Ontiveros did his part in helping his team defeat the Havana Metropolitanos, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Ontiveros, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Ignacio Noriega, who finished 4th in the EC in saves with 24 in 2081, nailed down the save.
First Baseman Bu-wei Kuang made an impact for Toronto, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Benito Cossutta in the bottom of the first. For the contest, Kuang was 2-4 with a double.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Kuang said.
The Metropolitanos, now 6-10, continue their poor start.
