Toros Suffer 5-3 Home Defeat

The Minneapolis Vikings defeated the Tucson Toros, 5-3, at Aetna Stadium. Minneapolis left fielder Joe Bird had a superb performance. He was 3-3 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Jarrod Beckman was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was 24-year old left-handed pitcher Feng Shuai. Minneapolis goes to 2-0 with the win.
The Vikings got a big at-bat from center fielder Marvin Jackson. For the game, Jackson was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Minneapolis a 2-0 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Bird said.
