The Minneapolis Vikings topped the Tucson Toros, 12-6, in Western Conference action at Minneapolis Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Minneapolis right fielder Carlos Dorame. The winner was Katsuo Nozawa in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Fidel Flores took the loss. Lesley Deakin wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save.

Javy Trinidad, the Minneapolis left fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 8-6, Vikings. For the game, Trinidad was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 3 times.

"It was great to come out and swing the bats," Trinidad told the Minneapolis Citizen.

For the Toros, the loss makes them 6-9.
