The Phoenix Thunderbirds racked up a win at Legednary Park, bumping off the Denver Glaciers, 6-5. Ernesto Alvarez, who started for Phoenix, pitched effectively for his team. Phoenix pitcher Alberto Aviles earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Jorge Diaz suffered the loss. Phoenix has a record of 6-9.

Phoenix took a 6-4 lead on Andres Romo's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Romo hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Denver pitcher Jorge Diaz visibly frustrated.

Phoenix manager Joe Busch was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
