Gaedels Get 10-7 Win Versus Cincinnati
|
Cincinnati right fielder Tim Champion was sensational. He was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. St. Louis beat the Twins, 10-7. To call the performance of the 2085 Twins subpar is an understatement.
St. Louis took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Edwin Valenzuela hit a run-scoring single to make it 8-7, Gaedels.
"I like our moxie," said Gaedels manager Mak Dolnick.
