Vikings Improve to 10-4 with 6-1 Win
|
Frank Macias pitched a gem to lead Minneapolis to victory over the Tucson Toros, 6-1. The winning pitcher was Macias, now 2-0. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. The Vikings, now 10-4, have been on fire in the early going.
The Vikings got a big at-bat from third baseman Sam Cone. For the game, Cone was 2-5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Minneapolis a 3-1 lead.
"We had a nice day," said Minneapolis skipper Ace Cooan.
