Ruzicka Helps Titans Defeat Gaedels, 10-5
|
Jeremy Ruzicka knocked in 4 runs to help New York beat St. Louis, 10-5. The Jefferson City, Missouri native tallied 1 single and 1 home run. New York pitcher Sergio Saldivar got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Carlos Yturralde got the loss. Now 2-12, the 2084 Gaedels have sputtered in the early going.
In the top of the sixth, the Titans grabbed the lead when Ruzicka hit his 1st home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Jose Ruiz made it 8-5, New York.
"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Ruzicka, cracking a smile.
