Senators Double Up Baltimore, 6-3
|
The Washington Senators took on the Baltimore Kings at The ESPN Zone.
Washington beat Baltimore on the strength of starting pitcher Pablo Alvarez's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. The Senators have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 4th win in 13 games.
Danny Mrazek had a big 2-run double for the Senators in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Washington leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from 26-year old left-handed pitcher Korey Sanders and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Senators ahead, 3-0.
"It was our day today," Mrazek told the Washington Daily. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
