Rangers Thwart Metropolitanos, 5-3
|
Buffalo picked up a win at Bison Stadium, bumping off the Havana Metropolitanos, 5-3. Pitcher Allan Tinter was a major reason the Rangers emerged victorious. Tinter picked up the win for Buffalo, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Picking up his 1st save was 32-year old right-handed pitcher Nees van Santen.
Merlin Garbie's at-bat in the bottom of the fourth inning was a big one for Buffalo. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 2nd and Buffalo trailing 2-1, the catcher hit a run-scoring single.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Garbie after the game.
The Metropolitanos, 5-8, continue their poor start to the 2084 campaign.
