Cyclones Whack Browns, 12-1
The Miami Cyclones handed the Brooklyn Browns a sound defeat, 12-1, at Kroger Stadium. Nick Johnston was a main contributor to the win. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 7 runs and scored twice for Miami. The winning pitcher was Billy Lorsung. His record now stands at 2-0. The left-hander went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits for the Cyclones. The Browns, now 4-8, continue their sluggish start.

With Miami leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Johnston hit a fastball from Michel Verde for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Cyclones ahead, 4-0.

"We're going through a skid right now," said losing manager Jason Cormier.
