With Late Score, Thunderbirds Beat Stars
|
Phoenix left fielder Billy Morf had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Los Angeles Stars, 6-5. Losses have been rare for the Stars, who are now 9-3.
Mark Crowley was the walk-off hero for Phoenix. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Thunderbirds catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This game had its share of tense moments," Crowley said, postgame.
