Hot Start Continues for Vikings
The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.

Juan Fonseca pitched well, but the Los Angeles Stars still lost the game, falling, 3-2, to the Minneapolis Vikings at Minneapolis Grounds. The win went to Katsuo Nozawa in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Juan Fonseca took the loss. Zee-loo Kim got the save, the 4th for him this season.

Minneapolis took a 3-2 lead on Gentaro Arakawa's 6th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Arakawa hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Los Angeles pitcher Juan Fonseca visibly frustrated.

"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Los Angeles manager Pat Kaers. "We just didn't cash in."

Early on, the Vikings, at 10-3, have played an impressive brand of baseball.
