The Portland Dragons had no problem beating the Seattle Arrows, 13-3, at Power Ballpark. Eddie Duarte led the way. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for Portland. Carlos Rodriguez, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 1.2 innings of relief. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. The Arrows, now 4-9, continue their poor start.

With Portland leading 2-1 in the top of the sixth, Duarte hit a 2-run single off Seattle hurler Ken Shearn. It was the 8th hit of the season for Duarte and put his team ahead, 4-1.
