Phantoms Suffer 7-6 Loss to Vancouver
Vancouver beat Chicago at Fox-Chong Park, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Minoru Kume. He went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. The win was credited to 26-year old right-handed pitcher Sergio Vega in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jimmy Camacho took the loss. Scott Brock earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game.

With the game tied, 5-5, in the bottom of the sixth, Kume had a key at-bat for Vancouver. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Kume hit a run-scoring single off Jimmy Camacho, making the score 6-5, Wolves.

"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Kume. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."

The loss makes Chicago 3-8.
