Spectres Roll Over Juggernauts, 9-1
|
Toronto had no answer for 21-year old left-handed pitcher Akashi Kurosawa. The Philadelphia Spectres starter stymied Juggernauts hitters, helping the Spectres cruise to victory, 9-1. Kurosawa, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The Juggernauts fall to 5-7 and continue their lackluster start to the 2085 season.
Early in the game, shortstop Jeff O'Donnell had a run-scoring double for Philadelphia. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Spectres on top, 1-0.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Kurosawa. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
