Stars Capture Close Win
The 6-5 Los Angeles win over San Diego was due largely to Whip Lund. The Stars catcher went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2. The Destroyers, now 4-8, continue their slow start.

The decisive blow was delivered by Han-lee Choi in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off two-time All-Star Victor Balaguer to win the game for Los Angeles. The home crowd went nuts.
