The Portland Dragons bested the Kansas City Athletics, 8-6, at Portland Park. Jose Carrasquillo was one of the standouts. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Portland is now 55-53.

The Athletics had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Dragons going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old left-handed pitcher Yahya Kanoro came to the plate. Kanoro hit a bases-clearing double on a 2-2 fastball from Kansas City hurler Eduardo Leon. It was Kanoro's 20th double of the year.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Kanoro.
