Friars Top Wolves in Extras, 7-4
|
The San Francisco Friars faced a tough opponent in Vancouver pitcher Juan Pinon, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Fox-Chong Park by a final score of 7-4 in 13 innings. Pinon went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. San Francisco pitcher Jose Alonzo got the win. He's now 2-0. Rikio Kaneko was tagged with the loss. With the win, San Francisco climbs to 6-6.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Rod Inzunza? The San Francisco third baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the 13th inning to put the Friars on top, 6-4. For the game, Inzunza had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I'm glad this one's going in the books as a 'W'," Inzunza said.
