Kodiaks Improve to 7-5 with 4-1 Win
|
The Alaska Kodiaks went home winners at Mountain Dew Park, thanks in large part to starter Savino Dore. Dore stifled the Denver Glaciers, enabling Alaska to grab the 4-1 win. In 6.1 innings, Dore surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. David Klontz was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Alderaan Pike? The Alaska first baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Kodiaks on top, 2-0. For the game, Pike had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Denver manager Todd Bleess.
The Glaciers, now 2-10, continue their inauspicious start.
