Aquas Take Tight Tangle
|
The Houston Aquas beat the Seattle Arrows, 9-8, in part because of designated hitter Bobby Badeaux. He went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Danny Mathews, who finished 5th in the WC in wins with 15 in 2078, nailed down the save. The win makes Houston 62-46.
Houston needed the clutch hitting of Craig Lightsey to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Aquas on top, 9-7. For the game, Lightsey had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Badeaux described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
