Lobster Beaten, 6-2, by Los Angeles
|
Roberto Davila was outstanding against Maine. The right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the WC in quality starts with 13, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Stars 6-2 win. Davila got the win, improving to 10-7. He gave up 3 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. Jason Petruska got the save, the 1st for him this season.
The Stars got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jose Gonzales. For the game, Gonzales went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 18th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 3-0 lead.
"Roberto was in attack mode," said Los Angeles manager Pat Kaers.
Los Angeles raised its record to 59-48 with the win.
