Senators Hold Off Cyclones, 2-1
|
Starting pitcher Rajam Masrani was a major factor in the 2-1 Washington Senators triumph over the Miami Cyclones. Julio Mendoza collected save number 19. With the victory, the Senators record stands at 43-65.
Misael Hernandez had a big solo home run for the Senators in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Washington leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he got a fastball from Billy Lorsung, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2078 draft, and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Senators ahead, 2-0.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Hernandez told the Washington Daily.
