Friars right fielder Manny Alaniz put his stamp on his team's 8-2 win over the Houston Aquas. Alaniz went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for San Francisco in the contest. Filiberto Ciriaco, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-0. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The loss drops Houston to 5-6.

With San Francisco leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Alaniz hit a sinker from Ron Gelsomino for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Friars ahead, 6-2.

"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager Brandon Coroian.
