The Seattle Arrows defeated the Houston Aquas, 7-3, at Power Ballpark. Seattle was led by 25-year old third baseman Jose Yanez, who went 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Picking up the win was Jimmy Cain. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. The left--hander struck out 2 and walked 4. The 4th-place Arrows bumped their record to 50-56.

There was more than one reason the Arrows beat the Aquas, but Yanez's big at-bat in the bottom of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 4-2 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

Yanez said, "Whether you hit the ball hard, you walk, you have a long at-bat, 10 or 12 pitches, or you hit a homer, you're just trying to do anything you can do to help the team win."
