Greens Win Streak Reaches 6
|
Boston pitcher Adrian Portuondo had a large part in his team beating the Washington Senators, 4-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 5.1 innings, Portuondo surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Jeremy Lanham locked down his 1st save.
Brian Snavley, who is tied for 5th in the EC in home runs with 23, had a direct impact on the outcome. Snavley contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Boston up, 4-1.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Portuondo told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
The 4th-place Greens have won 6 in a row.
