Both teams had their chances, but the Boston Greens eventually prevailed.

The Boston Greens weathered an outstanding game by St. Louis designated hitter Luke Zakharov to topple the Gaedels, 9-8. Zakharov was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Adrian Portuondo was the winner in relief. His record is now 4-6. The losing pitcher was Tso-i Mak.

Boston used the hitting of Matt Steinruck to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Greens on top, 7-5. For the game, Steinruck had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said St. Louis manager Mak Dolnick. "But we decided not to take it."

The Greens saw their win-loss record go to 57-47. At the same time, the Gaedels fell to 40-66.
