Twins Even Record with 2-1 Victory
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Cincinnati Twins and Montreal Harfangs.
In a low-scoring contest between the Cincinnati Twins and the Montreal Harfangs, Julio Carpinteyro, who finished 3rd in the WC in strikeouts with 216 in 2079, proved to be the difference. The Cincinnati right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Twins win. Macario Mendoza picked up his 8th save of the season.
The Twins got a big at-bat from second baseman Luis Zatarain. For the game, Zatarain was 1 for 1 with a home run, a walk, and was hit 2 times. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Cincinnati a 2-1 lead.
"Every play was important. Every out was important," said Twins manager Ryan Stoops.
Cincinnati now has a record of 52-52 with the win.
