Cyclones Dumped, 3-1, by Baltimore
|
Pitcher Stuart Stephenson was sensational for the Baltimore Kings in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Miami Cyclones. Stephenson earned the win. Stephenson, the winner, moves to 7-11. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up no walks. The Cyclones, at 43-62, have lost 4 straight games.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Kings had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when first baseman Harold Wicks hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Ed Rice and made the score 2-0, Kings. Wicks was 1-3 with a walk.
"I executed the game plan," said Stephenson.
