At Staples Field, the San Francisco Friars and Los Angeles Stars were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Jose Gonzales powered the Los Angeles Stars to a win over the San Francisco Friars. The final score was 10-4. The Los Angeles left fielder, who finished 2nd in the EC in extra base hits with 72 in 2083, was phenomenal. He stroked 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Tadeu Carneira, who is tied for 2nd in the WC in strikeouts with 163, was the winner. He's now 12-5. The loser was George Roscoe.

Los Angeles grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Gonzales hit a 3-run home run off Dave Fife. His 14th home run of the season put the Stars out in front, 3-0.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Gonzales said.

With the win, the Stars sit at 56-49.
