The Kansas City Athletics did just enough to sneak past the Toronto Juggernauts, 4-3, at Ballpark of Missouri. Kansas City pitcher Gerald Tanton, in particular, had a standout performance. Kansas City now has a record of 57-48 with the win.

D.J. Trigg, who is a three-time All-Star, helped out the Kansas City cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the center fielder went 1-4 with a double.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Toronto manager Marc Arnold.
