The Maine Lobster, behind a great outing from Tom Dobie, who finished 5th in the EC in strikeouts with 192 last year, defeated the Minneapolis Vikings, 2-1, at Minneapolis Grounds. Today's win puts Maine at 58-46, while Minneapolis falls to 59-46.

Carlos Sosa came through with a big-time hit for Maine. The third baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Tom was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Maine manager Matthew McExpos.
