|
The Buffalo Rangers took Phoenix pitcher Ernesto Alvarez's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Legednary Park. The final score had Buffalo getting past the Thunderbirds, 4-2. Alvarez went 6.2 innings and allowed 4 runs, striking out 7. With the win, the Rangers improved to 56-48.
Buffalo used a clutch at-bat from Jose Puga to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Puga said after the game.
