The Portland Dragons faced a tenacious opponent in Houston pitcher Ricky Zika, but still scratched out a win at Portland Park by a final score of 2-1 in 10 innings. Zika went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The victory makes Portland 7-4, as the team seeks a return to the playoffs in 2085.

The decisive blow was delivered by Xadreque Esperana in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 32-year old right-handed pitcher Danny Mathews to win the game for Portland. The home crowd went nuts.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Esperana told the Portland Today.
