Vikings Reel-In 3-2 Win Over Phantoms
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Minneapolis Vikings and Chicago Phantoms.
The Minneapolis Vikings, despite a fine performance by Chicago pitcher Jake Orthman, grabbed a 3-2 win at Foster Field. Orthman allowed 3 runs over 6.2 innings. Zee-loo Kim recorded the save, his 4th.
Minneapolis used the timely hitting of Leonardo Ruiz to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Vikings on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Chicago manager Sam J.
The win brings the Vikings to 7-4, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
