Toros Drop 2-1 Decision to Ravens
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Yellowknife Ravens and the Tucson Toros. Yellowknife won it, 2-1. Yellowknife starter Luis Basurto was in command. Basurto got the win, improving to 4-1. He gave up 2 hits and walked 3 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. The save was credited to J.D. Haynes, his 4th.
Alderaan Pike, who finished 3rd in the EC in runs with 109 in 2078, had a direct impact on the outcome. Pike contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put Yellowknife up, 2-0.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Ravens manager Alex King, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
Yellowknife is now 60-43, while Tucson is 54-49.
