The Boston Greens defeated the Cincinnati Twins, 5-1, in Eastern Conference action at Cincinnati Grounds. Boston pitcher Alex Mayorga had a standout performance. Mayorga got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 2 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. He allowed no runs. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Greens.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Sergio Folha? The Boston first baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Greens on top, 1-0. For the game, Folha had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Folha told the Boston Chronicle.
