The Maine Lobster downed the Seattle Arrows, 3-1, at Power Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Jim Lawrence had a lot to do with it. The left-hander, who is tied for 4th in the EC in strikeouts with 141, handcuffed his opponent all game. The winner was Rikio Kaneko in relief. His record improves to 4-3. Jim Morgan took the loss. Adam Mimnaugh closed it out for Maine, earning his 6th save.

Ramiro Rexach had a direct impact on the outcome. Rexach contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Maine up, 3-1.

Maine manager Matthew McExpos commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
