Wolves Nip Arrows, 4-3
|
Seattle got a decent performance from designated hitter Mark Kubina, but it wasn't enough to beat the Vancouver Wolves. Vancouver won the Power Ballpark contest, 4-3. Kubina threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. The winning pitcher was 27-year old right-handed pitcher Jarrod Beckman. He tossed 98 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. Cody Goings picked up his 12th save of the season.
Vancouver used a well-timed hit by Per Fronteira to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Wolves ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Seattle manager Dr. Jay Siber.
The 4th-place Wolves bumped their record to 45-57.
