Minneapolis Grounds was the site of a competitive game between the Minneapolis Vikings and Maine Lobster.
The Maine Lobster knocked off the Minneapolis Vikings, 5-3, at Minneapolis Grounds. William Sanjines was a big reason Maine won. The left fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ted Ayres picked up the win, improving his season record to 8-4. He struck out 5 in 5 innings.
With Maine leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Sanjines hit a fastball from Kwang-sik Nho for a 2-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Lobster ahead, 3-0.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Maine manager Matthew McExpos.
Maine now sports a record of 57-45.
