2084 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Phoenix Thunderbirds.

The Phoenix Thunderbirds could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Carlos Torres into a win. Instead, the Havana Metropolitanos prevailed, 10-4. Torres threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball. The last-place Metropolitanos bumped their record to 42-60.

Loo Xiu went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Havana. The 26-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off David Klontz. It was his 16th RBI of the season.

"Every manager loves to see an offensive outburst from his team," said Havana skipper Kevin Mayerhofer.
