Portland Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Portland Dragons dealt the Kansas City Athletics a 4-3 loss at Portland Park. Xadreque Esperana was the star on offense. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Portland reliever Ryan Mena snagged the win, upping his record to 6-1. Joey Gigstead shouldered the loss. With the win, Portland has a record of 56-46. Kansas City falls to 29-72.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Esperana hit a fastball from Joey Gigstead for a solo home run. The Dragons, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Esperana described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
