Avispas Win Squeaker, 5-4, Over Titans
|
Santiago beat New York at Estadio Guillermón Moncada, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to third baseman Jon Dante. He was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI. The 4th-place Titans now sit at 44-56.
Mayumi Watanabe, who is tied for 7th in the EC in triples with 3, helped out the Santiago cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the left fielder drove in one run.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Dante told the Santiago Today.
