Fading Friars Lose 11th Straight
|
In a tight tilt between the Seattle Arrows and the San Francisco Friars, Jimmy Cain was the deciding factor. The Seattle left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Cain, now 2-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. The Friars, now 44-57, have lost 11 in a row.
Ryan Jarnagin, who is a two-time All-Star, helped out the Seattle cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the catcher went 1-4.
"Jimmy knows how to get ahead of hitters, stay ahead of hitters, and put people out," said Seattle manager Dr. Jay Siber.
