Wolves Turn Back San Diego, 2-1

Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Vancouver Wolves and the San Diego Destroyers. Vancouver won it, 2-1. Vancouver starter Juan Pinon was in command. Vancouver is now 44-56, while San Diego is 39-61.
The Wolves got a big at-bat from first baseman Osmel Rivera. For the game, Rivera went 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Vancouver a 2-0 lead.
"Bottom line," said San Diego skipper Steve Alstadt, "we didn't play well enough to win."
