Behind an impressive start by Pablo Alvarez, Buffalo beat Minneapolis, 4-0. Lupe Sandoval notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. With the win, Buffalo pushed its record to 53-47.

Tim McCarthy hit a 3-run home run off Josh Hawes in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Rangers ahead, 3-0. In addition to the homer, McCarthy had 1 double, while going 2 for 3.
