Minneapolis Drops Buffalo, 6-1
|
Buffalo had no answer for Minneapolis Vikings starter Frank Macias, who flummoxed Rangers hitters as the Vikings cruised to victory, 6-1. Macias got the win, improving to 9-8. He gave up 4 hits and walked 3 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Buffalo, at 52-47, has lost 4 straight.
Mike Ramirez had a big 3-run home run for the Vikings in the top of the fifth inning. With Minneapolis leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a slider from Wade Belk, who finished 2nd in the EC in wins with 16 in 2071, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Vikings on top, 5-0.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Ramirez told the Minneapolis Citizen.
