Destroyers Hand Wolves 6-4 Loss
|
San Diego starter Tony Anaya pitched well against the Vancouver Wolves at Fox-Chong Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-4. Anaya got the win, improving to 5-5. He gave up 2 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. San Diego goes to 39-60, Vancouver to 43-56.
Carlos Tenorio had a big 2-run home run for the Destroyers in the top of the fifth inning. With San Diego leading 3-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 21-year old left-handed pitcher Dave Perez and punished it. The result was his 14th home run of the season, which put the Destroyers on top, 5-0.
"Tony kept his poise and got the job done," said San Diego manager Steve Alstadt. "He was outstanding."
