7-5 Win Takes Ravens to 56-43
|
Despite a great performance by Minneapolis left fielder Joe Bird, the Yellowknife Ravens defeated the Vikings by the score of 7-5 at Ragged Ass Road. Bird went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Taisei Yamamoto earned the win, while 28-year old right-handed pitcher Frank Macias took the loss for Minneapolis. The Ravens sit in first place in the Western Conference Jonas Division with a record of 56-43.
Tillmam Velado, who led the EC in home runs with 61 in 2081, helped out the Yellowknife cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-3 with a hit by pitch.
Velado told the Yellowknife Gazette: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
